mmmmmk. it's time to blog.

let's see. what's been happening? lots.

today was the first activitiy day. quite fun, i guess. went to school to play ultimate frisbee.

after it was over, xiao, alex, simon, peter, scott, and i all headed to home depot, where we bought all the supplies we needed to make a potato gun.

it took a while, but we finally left home depot to go to academy to buy a lighter thingie, the last piece of the puzzle.

then simon and peter went home while the rest of us went to my house to assemble the spud shooter. it was pretty exciting, i must say. the only ammo we had was those squishy stress reliever balls. the 1st shot only went 10 feet or so, but we were still jumping around like little girls with all the excitement. the 2nd shot went 20 feet. we finally hit the jackpot with the 3rd shot, which flew over 2 fences into my neighbor's yard (and remember, i have an empty field next to my house too).

next we went to kroger's to buy potatoes. our first shot with a potato was shot at close range. we aimed at a brick pillar, and..BOOM!! the potato shot out of the gun and splattered against the bricks! there was barely even a trace of any potato left!!

after a few more tweaks, we tried a few shots at the golf course. here were the official job assignments:

xiao - gun holder
me - sprayer
alex - capper
scott - shooter

we loaded the gun...and...BOOM!! the potato flew about 150 yards!!! haha and the next shot was about 175!!

by that time, it was about 5:00, so we all packed up and went to colony bend to play football. i got a few scratches, but it was rather fun.

alex took me home, then simon came over, then simon ate dinner at my house (i owed him one =P ), then alex, scott, and xiao came over, then we tried the gun again, then the lighter thingie broke. blah. so, tomorrow, we fix it and then make another one ;)
