if at first you don't succeed...

found this quote it andy wong's profile..

Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.
- Jacob Riis

have you ever tried to share your faith with someone you cared about, only to get rejected? have you ever tried to convince someone to simply listen to your beliefs, only to get ignored? have you ever prayed for someone so persistently, only to get no response?

your efforts are NEVER in vain.

mandy shared her testimony yesterday during CBS, and i must say that i was really touched by her message. like she said, you never know how much it may mean to a friend if you do the little things: invite them to church, spend time with them in fellowship, pray for them, share your faith with them, etc. God has His reasons for everything, and with that, His timing is always perfect.

we do not have the power to "convert" or "save" people. we do not hold the gift of salvation at our fingertips. it's all up to God. our only job is to simply spread the Good News. and you never know. maybe that one hour you spent sharing your testimony with a friend today will help in him/her coming to know Christ 20 years from now.

doesn't that thought alone make every effort worth the time? of course. so keep hammering away..
