reading rainbow

i've spent the past 2 days reading a whole bunch of stuff (unfortunately, mostly my chemistry textbook), but i just decided to talk about how FORTUNATE we are to even be able to read.

weird? yes, literacy is something we all definitely take for granted.

imagine what an illiterate world would be like.

so why am i posting this? especially when i know that only maybe 0.5% (the people i know who read for fun) of the people who will be reading this seemingly pointless entry are going to agree with me that books are our friends?

to tell you the truth, im not sure. i didn't really have any other motivation to write today, and lo and behold, all of a sudden i found myself humming the "reading rainbow" theme song.

you know what im talking about. don't roll your eyes at me. we all watched those amazingly interesting PBS videos back in elementary school. don't act like you don't know what im saying.

ok, if you're serious, and you really don't have any recollection of watching any awesome episodes of reading rainbow when you were a child, then im sorry to tell you this, but you were much deprived. here's a taste of what you missed out on:

BUTTERFLY IN THE SKY! I CAN FLY TWICE AS HIGH!
TAKE A LOOK, IT'S IN A BOOK! READING RAINBOWWWWW!
I CAN DO ANYTHING! FRIENDS TO KNOW, AND WAYS TO GROW, READING RAINBOWWWWW!

yeah, buddy.
