how long is YOUR attention span?

it's happened to the best of us.

the sun is setting outside, and you have decided to commit yourself to doing some homework. you open up your macroeconomics textbook with a highlighter in hand and begin scanning the page with your eyes.

naturally, you have music playing in the background, and as the text becomes more boring by the second, your ears begin to pick up the lyrics to the song. before you know it, you're singing along to westlife.

"when you've found that special thing, you're flying without wings.."you remember the music video to this song that featured boa.

thinking about boa brings up the thought of hyori lee, and you remember watching one of her videos on simeon's laptop during urbana.

the next thing that comes to your mind is the late-night pizza that you enjoyed during those few days on the university of illinois campus, and you suddenly feel hungry.

you try to remember the last time you ate something, and you are reminded of the people you ate dinner with at J2 and especially of the new person you met.

that new person sure looked familiar, and you try to reminisce of when you may have seen her before.

finally, you remember that you were supposed to be reading about the incredibly interesting subject of macroeconomics, but alas, your thoughts have shifted to a certain girl.

so what has this proven? other than the fact that girls are evil (just kidding, girls are suck. (j/k again, i meant girls are AWESOME) ), it's amazing how easily our minds wander. i mean, maybe it's just me, and perhaps i have an extreme case of ADD or something, but im pretty sure im not alone. i think what we all need is some sort of device that forces us to focus on a certain task -- a device that does not allow us to shift our attention until we've completed what we've set out to do.

come to think of it, i think i'll try inventing this device now.

..wait, what am i supposed to be doing again?
