the small things in life

my alarm went off. i sat up. i stood up. i sat back down. my left ankle hurt like a mofo. as i went through my morning routine, i learned to appreciate the small things in life.

you know, stuff like being able to step in and out of the shower with comfort. or being able to put on your pants without lying down on the floor. or being able to slide my shoes on without having to plop down on my bed. it's kinda strange how important a single ankle can be. not being able to put any pressure on it sure does limit your actions.

i had a quiz in TD301, so i hobbled down to the jester classroom and sat down. after taking the quiz, i hopped onto a forty acres bus while calling university health service to set up an appointment. i sat in the waiting room for about an hour. then i finally got called in to another room, where i waited for another hour. then i was rolled in a wheelchair into another room for x-rays. after those were taken, i waited for yet another hour. does anyone else notice a pattern here?

luckily, nothing was broken, so praise God for that. just a serious sprained ankle, and the doctor said that i wouldn't be on the basketball courts for another 3 weeks..

..but i'll see about that ;) anyhow, ended up missing all my classes today because of the stupid appointment, but it's all good.

oh and i almost forgot to share about my favoritest part of the day. at about 8:00, there was a fire drill!! yay!! and i was in my room on the 8th floor!! yay!! and i couldn't use the elevators!! yay!!

so yes, i had a blast hopping down 8 flights of stairs. ah, what perfect timing. hoorah!
