you never know..
so it turns out, on valentine's weekend, jon-erik shared his testimony during FOCUS service. i downloaded it a couple of days ago off of the fbcc website, and dude, it brought more tears to my eyes than love actually.
it's funny how everything works out in the end. haha come to think of it, i don't even remember how exactly me and JE met. i DO remember being in the same world geography class with mrs. schroeder. *sigh what an awesome class. i guess we got closer the next year in mr. torano's spanish 3 class. haha we would arm-wrestle just about every day, just for pride of course. haha junior year...i don't really remember anything at all. but senior year, the highlight had to be mcgee's class with JE and lots of other cool people. as i started to get to know jon-erik more, i begun to invite him to come to fellowship with me. most of the time, he just rejected my innocent offer, so i had no choice but to punch him in the face.
ok just kidding. but yeah, i guess it was pretty discouraging being turned down so many times, but now in retrospect, im so glad i didn't stop asking. senior year there was this conference in houston called dare 2 share. this conference was basically all about sharing the Good News with friends and family.
i left D2S pumped up. like, crazy pumped. and among the first people to come to my mind was jon-erik. so a couple nights later, i was talking to him online, and i just casually asked him what he thought about Christianity. that simple question opened the doors to a 3-hour conversation on his views, my views, and just about everything in between.
we decided to follow up the conversation with a meal at la madeleine's, and i gave him a couple of books that john lin suggested. but from that point on, i heard nothing from JE on the subject until, all of a sudden, he started going to church every sunday! it was definitely awesome seeing him there, and lo and behold, just a couple of months ago, he accepted Christ!
this just goes to show that God can use anyone to do work for His kingdom. heck, He even used me. don't give up.
