where is the love?
after these past couple of weeks, with several incidents hitting so close to home, i must ask the simple question: where is the love?
assault. robbery. gunshots. car chase. theft. even murder? after hearing various news stories for who knows how long, you would think that i would be somewhat calloused towards any of the above by now. thank God i still have some emotions left. recently, with so many things happening all at once, many people are feeling overwhelmed with feelings of doubt. it's times like these when there truly is no one else to turn to but God.
it's tough sometimes. i know. you're convinced that things happen for a reason, and yet, fighting through your pain and your tears, you fail to see any sense behind it. God works in mysterious ways. sometimes He allows things to happen so that we grow closer to Him. sometimes He tests our faith so that we can grow stronger. James 1:2-4 says "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
when the world seems out of control, you can always rest assured knowing that it's AlWAYS in His control.
