rejected

i got this LINK from brian thao-huoane's profile.

here's the headline:

Man tries to convert lions to Jesus, gets bitten
46-year-old leaps into den at Taipei Zoo, calls beasts to Christianity

kinda funny in a way because during small group yesterday we talked a bit about the things that hold us back from telling others about God. one of the first responses was "the fear of rejection."

speaking of rejection, i just got denied by my accounting test today. this sucks..i studied so much for it too =(

okay another test tomorrow. chin up.

(oh and btw, just in case you're wondering, working out on 1 hour of rest is not a good idea.)

pool of thoughts

i have no time to gather my thoughts, so i'm just gonna splatter them. okay? okay.

trying to decide on where to live next year. most likely i'm staying on campus, and currently, jester west 563 is at the top of my list. i don't know how smart that is though, considering meson's been living there for the past couple years =\ can't trust that guy.

i haven't gone home in a while, and lately i've had a tendency to get very homesick. it's weird, isn't it? you really don't know what you've got until it's gone. sad realization, but it's the bleak truth. not that my family's..gone..just, a couple hours away. sigh.

i think God is punishing me for criticizing lex's immune system at the AACM retreat. i've been coughing and weezing ever since. and NO, it's NOT just because i'm old.

i really wish people would let me know when they're coming to visit. i mean, sure, surprises are cool, but it makes me feel so confused when i suddenly see them on campus.

can someone tell me why there is a purple cotton candy maker in the middle of my dorm room? kay thanks.

speaking of my room, it is in its messy state again. strange, considering we just cleaned it thursday or something.

i am almost down to $600 dine-in dollars. this is getting kinda ridiculous. good thing i'm making use of this first semester to make friends, who hopefully will have spare dine-in dollars at the end of the year. hint hint. nudge nudge.

happy birthday nick liao (yesterday).

does anyone else feel lost when it comes to picking a major? i suppose i'm still considering PPA, but accounting does not look like it's gonna take a turn for the funner (is that a word?). maybe marketing? ahh..engineering?! j/k. never.

i still find myself thinking that i'm still a freshman sometimes. is that happening to anyone else? am i going through my quarter-life crisis? wait, i mean, my 1/6th-life crisis?

timmy chui needs to come home. now.

it's amazing how much our world depends on the internet, isn't it? yesterday night resnet crashed, causing internet to be freakishly slow or even non-existent. after this happened, i saw so many angry away messages, as if it was the end of the world. in either case, it's pretty difficult to imagine a world without internet.

it turns out my weight training class is doing some good. apparently, i am now a little over 140 pounds with 5.1% body fat. whoo my freshman 15, i mean my sophomore 10 is off to a terrific start. roar.

i miss driving.

this conversation made my day yesterday:
mok says: do you have a boyfriend
JEN nn MO k: EWW!
JEN nn MO k: no way, jose!
JEN nn MO k: HAHA.
JEN nn MO k: i throw rocks at boys.
mok says: promise?
JEN nn MO k: they're all a-z-n wannabe 50-pound gangsters here anyway
mok says: hahahhahahaha
JEN nn MO k: haha YES. proooomisa.
JEN nn MO k: i'm a nun.

okay nap time. have a good one.

fun vs work

a fun weekend, followed by a week full of work. hey, ya win some ya lose some, right?

friday night, saw some old familiar faces at AACM. actually, just one old, familiar face in particular -- andy wong aka manbeast. dang it was good seeing him again. oh, and jon-erik visited too. too bad he didn't tell me. wanker.

after AACM, a bunch of us headed over to the drag for some pho. good stuff. afterwards, watched a couple movies in 363 -- ghost and the american president.

saturday afternoon, i studied for hours on end. but all work and no play makes me a dull boy, right? right. saturday night was reserved for fun. starting with..the HOEDOWN! yaa fun stuff. i found out (once again, to my surprise) that michelle and gloria were also visiting this weekend. why doesn't anyone tell me anything anymore? anyways, hoedown was a lot of fun. i still can't say that i exactly know how to kicker well, but hey, it's all good. made up some new moves, went through an entire song with just spins, messed up all night, but it's all good. well, at least the few girls i danced with didn't complain :)

afterwards, we headed to 6th street to check out crazy austin people with crazy costumes. among my favorites were spiderman, captain america, the gingerbread man, and even JESUS! kinda blasphemous =\ sorry n/m, NOT one of my favorites. anyways we even spotted jho in a toga. what a baller.

ended the night with a taco C run. good times, good times.

well i really wish i could elaborate more on the past few days, but i'm afraid i have 3 upcoming tests to study for. hope you guys had as awesome a weekend as i did =)

fun time is over. time for work.
