draft day
oh, talk about butterflies. tomorrow is nba draft day, and a very highly anticipated draft day at that. there have been so many trade rumors and hype and hopes and wishes, and tomorrow everyone will see whether all of their dreams have come true.

here's some random predictions that i will make now so i will either look like an insightful genius or a complete fool come tomorrow night:

1. portland has first pick, and while they really should pick durant, all signs point to them taking the safe route aka oden.

2. seattle will go with durant. easiest. choice. ever. (and next year's rookie of the year, by the way)

3. atlanta: trade pick

4. memphis: al horford

5. boston: yi jianlian

...26. houston: HOPEFULLY the pick gets traded along with a package of expiring contracts and whatnot to the pacers for ike diagu and another player. i know we have a new man at the helm and all, but after reviewing the rockets' terrible history in the draft, i really just want to get that pick as far away from our hands as possible. i don't want another bryce drew or eddie griffin or malick badiane or (insert name here) happening.

short and simple
i got to see ophelia for the first time in 3 weeks on saturday. then she left on sunday and i won't see her for another 5 weeks. woe is me.

BUT, the one day i did get to see her, it was our 1 year anniversary!


happy one year =)

i'm still working in hong kong, and though it's tiring at times, i suppose it is all still very worth it. the 40-minute commute can be rather lengthy though.

here's a picture of the canton stampede that happens every day on the way to work in the morning and every day on the way home in the evening.


newfound fun thing to do: one of the best feelings in the world is just making it onto a subway train. and when i say "just making it," i mean stepping through when the doors are sliding closed indiana jones style.

of course, at the same time, a newfound pet peeve is just missing a subway train.
