move along move along

it has been 16 days since my summer officially began, and oh what a crazy 16 days it has been. i know none of you have anything better to do than sit here reading this thing, so i will not restrain myself from being verbose.

well recruiting season finally came to and end 2 fridays ago. you would think i would be sad about not having any more free food, drinks, or just junk, but on the contrary, i felt like a huge burden was lifted up off my shoulders. no longer did i have to toil with things such as proper dinner etiquette or the difference between business casual and semiformal dress -- at last i could return to my disgusting, filthy, uncouth self! jk i rather enjoyed the last week of recruiting. they put me in the nicest hotels, and i got to ride in a stretch hummer as well! but at the same time, thank goodness it's all over. i received offers from both KPMG austin and PWC houston, but i am planning on joining the K-team tomorrow morning.

oh recweek oh recweek, how i was NOT looking forward to thee. prior to leaving for camp buckner, i had one thought in mind: this is gonna be the longest week of my life. i'm not sure why i was so against going, but it was probably a combo of factors, such as just wanting to rest, knowing the vision team gets super stressed out during the week, and all in all, just not really "feeling it." you know what i'm talking about? you know what i'm talking about.

but God definitely saw me coming. recweek was amazing. that's all i can say. this is a much more "in-person" kinda thing, this keyboard could not do the week justice.

okay but i will share this: "for Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. and he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for he who died for them and was raised again." (2 corinthians 5:14-15) YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR MIND! <-- vteam joke.

so if you didn't know already, my family is moving to pearland.

ha! gotcha! but we are indeed moving, and out of sugar land for that matter. all the way across texas to missouri city. i wonder if i still count as SL now. then again, these dulles people never really counted anyways, even though they still consider themselves SL. shrug. we've spent the past 2 days moving an insane amount of furniture to the new crib. we will be officially moving in after kenya.

speaking of kenya, i am leaving tomorrow morning for kenya. do me a favor and pray big for me? just do it right now while it's on your mind, or while you have time. pray for changed lives, yo. pray that God will change the lives of not only the people in kenya, but the people on our missions team as well. pray that God will show just a glimpse of how incredibly unspeakably awesome He really is.

i've run out of things to say for right now, and sorry, no pics to relieve you of this stressing thing known as "reading." so i'll leave you with a single question:

kenya dig it?! (rhetorical question -- no reply needed)

(okay fine i can't resist putting a pic up. but this is all you get, for at least 2 weeks, so sit back and enjoy it in all its glory. the first day we're in kenya, our team gets to go on a safari, and i do believe i will be seeing some of this:

watch out larry, i'm coming for you.
