is it time already?

wow what an awesome weekend so far. i suppose this calls for an update.

thursday night i spent all night studying for this economics quiz. bah, don't you hate that feeling? you know, the feeling that you OVERstudied the material? yeah, i seem to know it all too well.

anyways, titus had asked me to to play ball on thursday, so i asked him if he still wanted to play. but he said no, he wanted to go to freshminar this week. with a deep sigh, i acquiesced to his request (guess what movie that's from) and asked him to call me to wake me up when it was time for the seminar.

i fell asleep. i woke up by myself. at 7 freaking 30. yeah, and then titus later "claims" that he called me. man, what a punk.

anyhow, i grab a bite to eat and watch the rookie challenge thing on tnt. people were just dunking all over the place, which i guess was pretty exciting at first, but then it gets rather boring when no one's really playing forreal.

i headed over to san jac, played holdem for an hour, and then it was time to go clubbing. i personally wanted to go to zero, but then someone suggested some other club named spyro's (sp?). it may just be me, but isn't spyro's the name of some playstation video game dinosaur?

it was crazy cold outside. and i took the bus. YAY! ended up walking a couple blocks to meet up with the rest of the group. haha and then all the girls decided to leave their jackets in the car, so basically we had a group of 10 asian kids running around 6th street in clubbing clothes, squealing and screaming. or, maybe it was just raymond.

anyhow, zero was closed, so we went to spyro's by default. it was surprisingly empty -- i felt like everyone was just watching us dance the entire time. all in all, it was still awesome. been a while since i went clubbing...few months? dunno.

oh and just one more thing about clubbing. what is with this overwhelming sensation of sexism? huh? it's insane. i actually got all excited at the entrance because i saw this huge sign that said NO COVER. then, to my dismay, i was informed that it was only for females. yeah, shut up with all your sarcastic "oh boohoos" cuz there's more to this story. it turns out 96.7 was there too, and at about 1 AM this DJ gets up and says he's giving away free stuff. and, duh, you know me, i was up at the front as soon as i heard that beautiful word: f - r - e - e.

that guy took one look at me and told me to put my hand down. why? because i didn't deserve a cd or tshirt? no. because i already got a cd or tshirt? no. because i WAS A GUY. seriously, those exact words. arg.

it turned out ok. angela got the 50 cent cd - get rich or die trying (awesome cd) and melody got a gangs of new york dvd. good stuff.

so we leave the club at 2 AM, and...
IT'S SNOWING!!

WOOOHOOO!! too awesome! it wasn't the snow-that-is-barely-frozen-that-melts-when-it-hits-the-ground type of snow either. ah, too cool.

by golly, this entry is getting long. alright let's be concise with the rest of the night, shall we? went back to san jac, the guys waited in the lobby for 3980238 hours for the girls to shower AND dry their hair, headed to my room, spent 92350823 hours looking for dvds, ended up doing nothing, and everyone called it a night. yipee!

went to bed at 7, woke up at 8, headed over to san jac to ___. oh wait, i can't tell you. it's a surprise.

..ok j/k im being gay. titus, phil, jason, yuen, chris, michael, scott, rudy, and i represented the freshmen guys and cooked breakfast for the freshmen girls for valentine's day. man, what a feast. seriously. that looked better than any breakfast I'VE had in a while. of course, i don't eat breakfast, but you know what i mean. there were 11 fish girls there, and they made cards for all the guys. pretty tight cards too, i must say. anyways, got to meet a few new people, not to mention the opportunity to show the girls how much we appreciate them.

ok time for more conciseness (is that a word?). went to gregory, balled for a couple hours, went to plucker's, surprised melody, ate an amazing meal of 8 chicken wings, went back to jester, and hey! that's where i am now!

..the corniness. happy valentine's day.

reading rainbow

i've spent the past 2 days reading a whole bunch of stuff (unfortunately, mostly my chemistry textbook), but i just decided to talk about how FORTUNATE we are to even be able to read.

weird? yes, literacy is something we all definitely take for granted.

imagine what an illiterate world would be like.

so why am i posting this? especially when i know that only maybe 0.5% (the people i know who read for fun) of the people who will be reading this seemingly pointless entry are going to agree with me that books are our friends?

to tell you the truth, im not sure. i didn't really have any other motivation to write today, and lo and behold, all of a sudden i found myself humming the "reading rainbow" theme song.

you know what im talking about. don't roll your eyes at me. we all watched those amazingly interesting PBS videos back in elementary school. don't act like you don't know what im saying.

ok, if you're serious, and you really don't have any recollection of watching any awesome episodes of reading rainbow when you were a child, then im sorry to tell you this, but you were much deprived. here's a taste of what you missed out on:

BUTTERFLY IN THE SKY! I CAN FLY TWICE AS HIGH!
TAKE A LOOK, IT'S IN A BOOK! READING RAINBOWWWWW!
I CAN DO ANYTHING! FRIENDS TO KNOW, AND WAYS TO GROW, READING RAINBOWWWWW!

yeah, buddy.

the one that got away

first intramural basketball game of the season turned out to be a good one. JORTO LEAGUE CHAMPIONS played a good game, but in the end, we fell a bit short against andy wong's team (sorry, don't know their team name).

it wasn't a perfect game, either by the players, the refs, or even the scorekeeper, but it was still a good matchup. we ended up losing 44-37, though one basket was not counted, so unofficially, 44-39.

overall, we just gave up too many open 3-pointers, especially in the first half. other than that, our defense was pretty stellar. i didn't agree with some of the fouls called, but it's all good. i think i ended up with 27 points, a few rebounds, several assists, a couple blocks, and 6 steals.

anyways, if you want to see peter, phil, ted, joe, john, rudy, xiao, ck, yeeland, and i tear it up, feel free to come to our games at gregory gym on sunday afternoon at 4:30 (no game this week though).
DewDroplett: wow u never come to san jac

Auto response from %s: san jac
