i turned this in for my human sex (EDP363) class today. the topic was "what is your favorite love song, and why"?

My favorite love song would have to be “I Promise You” by the Backstreet Boys. I enjoy this song because I consider myself to be a prototypical helpless romantic. I believe in concepts like true love, and the lyrics to this song just sum it all together. I like the idea of relationships being an overall promise of commitment to loving and caring for the other person. As opposed to many of today’s mainstream songs concerning sex, promiscuity, guys being horny, etc, I enjoy this song because it doesn’t talk about any of that at all – it conveys an ideal picture of love. I think the world today focuses too much on the physical aspects of relationships without considering the emotional side of it. Pretty much everything the media throws at us is filled with sex, and the only things having to do with anything close to love are labeled as “chick flicks.” Sure, sometimes these movies can be overly cheesy and rather ridiculous, but I believe they are somewhat necessary. People have to hold on to this concept of love and romance, at least to some extent. It’s sad how far society has fallen with issues such as abortion, rape, and divorce. It’s almost as if there is nothing really holding anyone back from just their innate, animal desires. Nobody has any sense of commitment anymore, let alone love. There are broken relationships everywhere you turn, and yet things are only getting worse, not better. I’m not sure what needs to be done, but it’s certainly got to be something drastic. Maybe boy bands need to all team together and make a huge comeback or something, or maybe chick flicks need to overtake the movie industry because in the words of the Black Eyed Peas, “where is the love?”

ah, exactly 300 words long, just as required. not bad for 5 minutes work, eh? too bad someone said her "suspicions" of my sexuality were confirmed after she read this..whatever that means.
