pinch me

sometimes i really wonder where all the time goes.

i'm in my 2nd year of college already? my sister's a junior in high school? my brother's a sophomore? seriously now, what's going on?

it seems like just yesterday when i first got my driving permit and didn't know to use only my right foot for both the accelerator and the brake. it seems like just yesterday when i went to china with my family and a monkey did his business on my head. it seems like just yesterday when i would await every high school intramural basketball game with giddy anticipation.

now here i am, packing my life away once again, a few days away from returning "home" to the university of texas. and before i know it, i'll be wearing that cap and gown once again, ready to take on the business world.

someone please hit the pause button -- give me some time to soak it all in.

back to school

so with the whole "back to school" thing quickly approching, i thought i'd just take a moment to look back on what i learned after my first year in college.

1. do not bring all of your belongings with you.
2. do not spend all of your bevo bucks in the first month and a half of the school year.
3. eat at J2 -- it saves money. lots of it.

those are the biggies.

anyways, i'm going back to UT in less than a week! =O

i'm really looking forward to this year. i'm gonna be crazy busy with 15 hours, harder classes, and a small group, but it should be awesome nonetheless.

sophomore slump? what sophomore slump?

DEPORT ME, PLEASE

so i have some good news and some bad news.

good news: i get to go home in 3 days!

bad news: i want to go home now.

i tried to get my flight changed to today, but the airline was all booked. sigh, 5 weeks of the united kingdom is more than enough for me. send me back to america!

to make matters worse, i am staying in the world's worst hotel. the beds are uncomfortable, you have to pay to use the TV, they require a $40 deposit to use the phone, there is no AC, the windows open about 2 inches, and you have to call reception whenever you want to take a shower so they can unlock it for you. i was seriously considering sleeping outside yesterday.

all in all, london is a pretty lively city, but my mind just isn't into it right now. i've already done all the touristy stuff before, so all i have planned now is to watch a few theater performances.

yesterday alan and i decided to check out the final showing of "when harry met sally" at some theater. we got there 5 minutes before the play started and got hooked up with $80 seats for $25. I FINALLY GOT REWARDED FOR PROCRASTINATION. it was an awesome play, by the way.

tonight or tomorrow we may check out the globe theater for some classic shakespeare stuff.

alrighty i'm gonna go explore the city. peace out.
